Description:

Giotto was recognised by Dante as the leading artist of his days,, he was a painter and architect.
We can see his masterworks at the Scrovegni chapel in Padua, the frescoes tells the life of the virgin and the life of Christ.

In this fresco, the ancient and contemporary observers can recognise the main square of Assisi, with its unmistakable white tower, known as the Palazzo Comunale, and the temple dedicated to Minerva.

Here a simple man spreads out his clock before the young nobleman, he is knelling as a sign of inferiority and respect.

The rich man is St. Francis, he comes from the left, he has the halo.
St. Francis thanks with respect the poor for his gesture, but not the person around them, and they remain dismayed, for the dialogue with the poor.
