InterActiveNovels: Dracula

The carriages of the first class are very comfortable, the Aaron's chair was made of real leather and gave off a pleasant scent, in front of him there was two men, on the left an older man with thick white beard, on the left a very nobleman his clothes were tailor-made and his fingers were dirty with black ink, this man was busy writing in his diary.

The train was approaching the destination, Aaron asked Jonathan where the Golden Krane Hotel was. Jonathan told him to follow him, as they had booked the same hotel.

They decided to chat about poems after the dinner at the hotel, both very hungry.

After the dinner Jonathan was wearing a crucifix, Aaron asked him why he was wearing such a beautiful crucifix. Jonathan whispered to him that it was a gift from an elderly woman, the owner of the hotel.

Aaron was in the middle of the library, he never saw so many books, all of them were written in English, most of them were classical. Dracula knocked at the door and entered immediately, he looked straight inside the eyes of Aaron and smiled.

They didn't say a word to each other but it was clear that they were book lover. Aaron lowered his eyes and opened the book in his hands, the paper was extremely delicate, probably a book of the past century, he read a couple of letters, then he raised his sight to answer the question asked by Dracula.

Aaron told him that the best way to improve a foreign language is to speak about a common interest, he paused for a while and then added that there isn't only grammar.

Count Dracula was annoyed, Aaron said what was wrong, politely the man in black told him that he wants to speak English not as a foreign language but like a mother tongue.

The minds of Jonathan and Aaron were connected, they were able to feel the same sensations and emotions.

Aaron started to speak to the count with the semblances of Jonathan, his intention was to understand why Jonathan was imprisoned in the castle.

Count Dracula didn't expect that question, he smiled for a while and then started to think deeply looking at the floor.

After a while he raised his iced eyes and said that he was able to go.

Outside the castle there were terrifying howls, Aaron told Count Dracula that he was a dishonest person.

"Are you afraid to die?"

"I don' want to die mauled, is this my destiny?"

"Aren't you a fervent believer of free will?" go to the point and pay your freedom with life."

"But life is the most precious thing I possess."

"Exactly you believe you own it."

It was late in the night, Jonathan get up from his bed and someone knocked at the door. It was the count Dracula, the room was completely shrouded in darkness with the exception of a faint, pale ray of moonlight, which illuminated the count's face. There were little red specks on his starched collar.

The count opened the heavy blue curtains, the moon entered the room and then took some papers, he read it and looked ferociously to Jonathan telling him that he was treacherous, Jonathan started to cry. Aaron was close to him, he was really disparate that secret letters were written for Mina, his love for her ended in a thousand pieces of paper.

The day after Aaron told Jonathan that during the night he had had a terrible nightmare he was sweating a lot and his hands were resisting an invisible object.

He whispered that he was about to be kissed by three beautiful women, and only thanks to his love was he able to defeat his desire to kiss them.

Jonathan was upset he told Aaron that the count Dracula had intercepted the secret love letter for Mina, Aaron noticed that he was more worried about Mina rather than himself.

Jonathan noticed that Aaron was a bit strange, he never imagined that in front of him there was the man of the future where it is possible to interact with the literary characters.

For a while Aaron thought that in the future the border between the real and digital world will disappear.

Jonathan looked at him and told him if everything was okay.

Aaron told him that to write love letters is the most noble tool to show his own love, the white paper is immaculate, and the paper is ready to absorb the love letters and her tears of joy.

Aaron decided to go to Whitby to get to know Mina Harker and observe her when she was writing the letter to her boyfriend.

Aaron and Mina were sitting around a table, in the centre there were two lit candles and an inkwell, on the table there were an infinite number of crumpled sheets of paper.

Her hands were dirty with ink, her face was annoyed since she couldn't fully express his feelings that are impossible to write on a paper.

The air inside the room was stale, Aaron decided to open the window to let in fresh air. Mina remained indifferent.

It was early in the morning, the seagulls singing at the top of their lungs around the Carfax abbey.

This abbey was overlooking the north sea on the east cliff above Whitby.

Even in broad daylight the abbey had a ghostly appearance.

Aaron remembered a scene of Marmion, a tale in verses written by the poet Walter Scott.

In this abbey is imprisoned the spirit of a Lady, a legend tells that someone has seen the lady in one of the windows.

Mina and the lady have in common the letters written  for their boyfriends, for Aaron was unable to read their letter, he didn’t find a new candle.

At midday Aaron was seated on a wooden bench with two seafaring men, they were whispering among themselves of the wreck of a ship , their story was horrible, and then he saw the only survivor who was burning from madness.

Aaron never imagined that the streets of London were so dirty and dark.

There wasn't a working streetlight in central London. On the sidewalk there was all kinds of rubbish, dead mice and a stench I had never smelled before, the sidewalk was made of smooth stones, where is it possible to slip. What to say about the sky? The moon was invisible, covered by thick smoke. On the corner he heard a girl shouting violets for your buttonhole, a fantastic contradiction in an environment so dilapidated.

Aaron looked at the young girl, she was extremely thin, the result of a true poverty. He bought the violet for his dress.

The theatre wasn't so distant he was excited to physically meet Seward, Harker, Mina and Lucy, his favourite characters.

One hundred meter before the theatre he recognised Dracula, he was wearing a dark dress and then saw the young girl infatuated with his diabolical charm, to pay with his life.

Before dying the young girl told Aaron that she was happy to die, for the first time someone kissed me passionately.

The fog was only inside the mind of Mina, Dr. Harker was right, it was only a dream.

Aaron remained perplexed about the affirmation of Dr. Harker and decided to investigate asking Mina to describe in detail her dream.

At the end of the chat Aaron remained astonished, her description was so detailed and rational that he wasn't able to distinguish between appearance and reality, for him was a truly nightmare, a plastic example that a novel can change the point of view of a person.

Mina told him that the dream is the only tool able to defeat Count Dracula, mistakenly believing that the victim is vulnerable while sleeping.

Aaron read Count Dracula during his youngest, he remained perplexed about two characters the count Dracula and Renfield and a phrase of Dr. Abraham Van Helsing.

" I am convinced that this Dracula is no legend but

an undead creature whose life has been unnaturally prolonged."

Renfield ate insects to accumulate new lives, and Dracula fed on the blood of his victims to survive.

Renfield deliberately chose to prolong his life making himself look crazy. For Dracula it was completely different, without his consent someone decided to prolong his life.

He was also interested about the difference between appearance and reality, what we see is really true? Are we still living inside the Plato's  cave?

The sheets of Mina's bed smelled of flowers, she was sleeping soundly with a beautiful smile on her face, she was probably dreaming of her only love.

After a few hours Mina and Harker were seated on the terrace, it was cold and there was fog. Mina told Harker that she felt attracted by the fog and the darkness, she wasn't kidding, her tone of voice was authoritative and it was clear that she firmly believed what she was saying.

The wind was biting, Aaron's feet were almost frozen and there was too much humidity, so he decided to return to the bedroom lit by a candle that smelled of vanilla.

Harker looked at Mina as if she was a vampire, he tried to persuade her without results. Then Aaron spoke to Mina he said that he was terrorised about the fog, Mina reassured him that her strategy was to deceive and then kill Dracula.

Mina's strategy succeeded perfectly, everyone left the abbey but not Helsing who remained next to Dracula hoping for his resurrection, he felt an irrepressible attraction for evil and the power of having any woman of the present and future at his feet.
