InterActiveNovels: The Hobbit
Me and Bilbo Baggins were covered by a mantel. I asked him if it was the mantle of Harry Potter. He denied vigorously then with a placated voice told me that it was due to his magical ring, in front of us there was Smaug a giant dragon. From his nostrils and mouth came immense tongues of fire, one of which completely enveloped us. As usual, I asked Bilbo a question at the most inappropriate moment.
"Do you wear Plato's ring?"
He ironically smiled at me.
It was clear to me that this boy is very polite. We were close to being burned by the fire and or crushed by a dragon's paw, or pierced by one of its claws.
After a while the dragon fell asleep on a mountain of gold coins, at which point Bilbo took off the magic ring.
We were inside the Lonely Mountain, we felt cold due to the high percentage of humidity, the light was dim, enough to see a few pointed rocks, very similar to the towers of Gothic cathedrals.
Now it was the right time to ask a philosophical question to Baggins
"What does it mean for you to be invisible?"
He told me that the ring was indispensable to kill the dragon and also to protect ourselves. I totally agree with him. It wasn't the answer I wanted to hear.
Baggins ignored completely that I came from the future, he must have mistaken me for a dwarf imprisoned by the dragon.
I thanked him heartily for having released me from prison. He wanted to know my story, my answer was very evasive, then I told him that I would have liked to use the magic ring to take revenge for the wrongs suffered.
He looked at me very angry. He was ready to throw me into dragon's jaws, he didn't do it, then he told me that my soul was corrupted by evil
