Pape Satàn Aleppe is the opening line of Canto VII of Dante Alighieri's Inferno, and it is famous for the uncertainty of its meaning; one of them could be a kind of demonic invocation to satan* (Source: Wikipedia)
Considering that the name of the publisher is 'La Nave Di Teseo' (The Theseus' ship) and that the book series is named 'Faro' (Lighthouse) and that the readers are like the travellers, I decided to adopt the theory of Domenico Guerri, who researched medieval glossaries, throughly in 1908 and interpreted it as 'Oh Satan, Oh Satan God' as an invocation against travellers. Obviously the publisher has nothing against its readers, it means that we are navigating on the waters of a liquified society, emphasizing on the concept coined by Zigmut Bauman.
This neologism means that the boundaries and social references are lost. The political power move away from the control of the people (Ilvo Diamanti, Repubblica, 4 Giugno 2006)
In this book there is a series of the packet of minerva, written by Umberto Eco and published from 1985 to 2016 appeared on the last page of the weekly magazine 'L'Espresso' the glue is the concept mentioned above.
In a Bustina (bag) Umberto speaks of the spiritual transformation of our era, the fall of the Berlin's wall and that between the left and right there is not a clear distinction.
He speaks of Privacy and internet are we losing our privacy, the net can be comparable to a sort of big brother or to Orwell?
The question to his readers is that we are agree to lose a piece of our private life and why there are the so called 'Tv Trash' where a person tells his/her sad story to the others is it a form of narcisism?
Speaking of Internet Umberto tells us if the teacher is useful or not in the time of internet.
He says that if I want to know something I use the net to know how to something, which the informations could be more accurate of the teacher, this is true, but is also true that a teacher does not only tells notions but he/she tells us on how to be critics, we should be able to distinguish from a hoax to an accurate information.
There are two bustine about the European Union and how it is perceived by its citizens.
Listening to the politicians the image of this union is negative, they say that the union is governed by Angela Merkel or that it is full of bureaucrats, but they do not remember the true spirit of the Europe Union and its cultural identity.
From the second world war, the Europeans live in peace, there are no borders between the states.
These politicians (and some europeans) should read "In Search Of Lost Time" of Proust and other intellectuals like Byron, Santore di Santarosa, De Gasperi, Schuman, Spinelli, Adenauer, and what about the philosophies, and the theatrical and musical operas?
In the year 2003 the European Constitution has failed because to put in the constitution its Christian origins.
Someone was disagree because the europe of tomorrow will be multi ethnic and a reference to its origins is deleterious.
Umberto Eco tells us that a true multi ethnic society is inclusive and the exclusion is wrong. We will have a true Union when there will be references to the greek roots - Roman and Judeo-Christian, even the Pantheon was opened to all races and creeds, why to change now?
