Operette Morali: Essays and Dialogues

by Giacomo Leopardi

A Dialogue Between Nature & Soul

In this dialogue, Leopardi, tells us of his infelicity due to the malignity of the nature.
Every human being has a soul, and each of them is tailor made, this means that a superficial man will have a superficial soul.

The soul of Giacomo Leopardi is more sensible and through his soul who feels the sensation imperceptible to the majority of the humanity. The man is destinated to suffer because there are no chances to improve the life, because the suffering has been established a priori, and the suffering will end with the death.

According to Leopardi it is better to life a superficial life for living better.

Personally I prefer to suffer, because I want to teach to my soul the beauty of a poem or a painting.
