Carlo Crivelli Italian Painter ( c.1435 Venice - c. Ascoli Piceno 1495) Venetian School - Early Renaissance - Religious Painting
Description:
I decided to compare the two Magdalene, to appreciate their beauty, a point goes to Carlo and his talent to describe the long and steamy hair and above all the blond hair on the shoulder in contrast with those around his back.
It seems to me that Magdalena is a bit squeamish, she does not like the viewer of the observer, looking at her eyes and how she holds the mantle. I also like her fingers so beauty and long, on her left hand she holds the amber ointment, her main attribute.
The glance of the other Magdalene seems less surprised by the 'intrusion' of the observer, maybe she is smiling to us.
The amber of ointment is transparent where we can see her fingers, why is it empty? and her fingers are well painted? being in open contrast with the fingers of her left hand.
