Book Reviews: The Eye Of The Wolf (by: Daniel Pennac)

 



The eye of the wolf, is a story about, a wolf with a blue mantle, who lives in a zoo, with a blind eye.
The wolf comes from Alaska, he lives alone in the cage, he suffers for the lost of a gray wolf, named Pernice, who met his sister.

After this trauma, the blind wolf will interact with a young boy with the name of a continent: Africa.
The boy's constancy makes him change his mind, he is not the usual visitor who wants to see animals trapped in the cages of a zoo.

When the boy close his eye in sign of solidarity, the wolf will consider him as a friend.
They won't communicate through the words, but through their eyes, looking at each other, they will be able to see their past.

The wolf will see the Africa with its main colors, through his pilgrimage, the boy will know the sister of the wolf, the mother, and his sacrifice.

The wolf will see the boy as a storyteller, his loves for the animals, his adoptive parents, they call the civilized world as "The Other Worlds"

In this place, he finds all the animal friends he met during his travels, after this vision, the wolf will open his both eyes. He will explain to the boy that the humans don't deserve to be observed with two eyes.

The wolf will discover thanks to this particular friendship, that now the humans can be observed with both eyes.
