Poem Reviews: The Raven
The first stanza begins with the story of a man perusing an old book, it's a bleak December night, in this room there is a library in a corner there is the bust of Pallas, the man is sorrow by the dead of his love Lenore, at some point he hears a distinct ticking at the door, he also listens to the rustling curtains, a terrifying mix, at the door, he someone is pronouncing the name of his beloved, Lenore, but it's an echo of his own words.
The man decides to come back to his bedroom, the ticking is insistent it should be the wind knocking on his window, when he opens the window enters a black raven, he hears Lenore's name distinctly.
The crow ends its flight on Pallas's head the man asks the crow what his name is, he receives no answer but only Nevermore.
The man decides to sit in the chair that Lenore will no longer occupy and he asks him with a firm tone if he will see his beloved in heaven, the bird responds "Nevermore"
The man is enraged badly hunts the black crow, but the bird's response is always the same "Nevermore "and remains perched on the bust of Pallas.
The word "Nevermore" has created a shadow in his soul, which is also devouring his mind.
