Philosophical Reviews: The Sacred And Profane Love Machine

The Sacred and Profane and the Putto is central to the philosophical message of this novel. It implies a deep suffering of the human being, who is unable to find the true love, this implies betrayal, but betrayal is linked to the possession of the other.

Montague called Monty, in the midst of the crisis between Harriet and Blaise he will tell her that love does not contemplate any kind of right over the other. In his opinion she will reunite with Blaise.

He harshly criticizes Harriet's behavior as it is due to jealousy and not love, which should be immune to everything
