Literary Criticism: The Princess Of The Sea (Mary F. Nixon - Roulet)

 

In this short stories there are three characters

The Princess. The Old Sea King, Urashima the fisherman, a dolphin.

The princess is depicted as the essence of beauty, her father who cares about the future of his daughter a man of good principles.

The fisherman is an honest man, he respects the sea throwing back into the sea the fish that cannot be eaten, such as sea turtles.

It is set in two environments, the depth of the sea a paradise rich of food and jewels.

The terrestrial world is depicted as a place where you need to work to survive.

The conflicts arise when the princess wants to discover the way above her head and then the concession to let the handsome fisherman return to her world, fearing to lose him forever.
