Literary Criticism: The Hobbit
This novel is set in a fantastical world with dwarfs and Trolls, Goblins, Wolves, Spiders and on the background the Lonely Mountain.
The main characters are: Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakshield, Balin, Fili Bombur, Gandalf and the Dragon.
The Themes are: The discovery of oneself, friendship and loyalty, The struggle between good and evil.
Thorin Oakshiel with Bilbo and a group of dwarves who embark on a journey to get back their stash of gold stolen by the dragon Smaug.
They will meet giant spiders, wolves, monstrous creatures and the dragon.
The most interesting characters are Bilbo Baggins, a catch potato who loves living in peace and smoking good tobacco with his pipe.
Thanks to the wizard Gandalf he will for a while change his life, becoming an adventurer killing the dragon and the life of his companions.
